Ashley’s gown was full of intricate, textured details that brought the design over the top. She came to our studio looking for some sort of 3-D applique embellishment over a silky, bell sleeve, wrap dress. We combined certain details of 2 different dresses that she had fallen in love with to create her dream design.
The accentuating lines and differentiating shapes created by the shiny and matte sides of silk charmeuse come together to create the most flattering silhouette. And can we talk about those sleeves!? They go down in history as favorite sleeves to come out of the EKB studio to date. The illusion bell sleeves were topped off with an ombre organza petal applique effect to bring to life a beautiful texture that was matched in the train of the gown as well.
Anyone who knows me as a designer knows that the detail and embellishment is my favorite part of creating a dress. Hand applique’ing each organza petal on Ashley’s gown was done with artful and creative placement and we couldn’t be happier with the finished product!
